Roadside Harvest Community Guidelines
Welcome to our community! To keep our platform safe, friendly, and reliable for everyone, all buyers and sellers must follow these simple rules:
- Be Accurate: Keep your stall location, operating hours, and produce & product descriptions completely honest and up to date.
- Keep it Legal: Only list raw, homegrown produce or permitted cottage foods. Never list alcohol, tobacco, or illegal items.
- Prioritise Safety: Ensure your roadside stall is set up safely, does not block traffic, and provides clear visibility for passing drivers.
- Stay Fresh & Clean: Ensure all produce is fresh, safe for consumption, and handled using hygienic practices.
- Respect Privacy: Never share another user's personal information, and only use stall locations for the purpose of buying produce.
- Keep it Friendly: Avoid abusive language, spamming, or unfair reviews. Treat all community members with kindness and respect.
- Report Issues: Help us keep the app safe by reporting inaccurate listings, unsafe locations, or suspicious behavior immediately.
Legal and Safety Disclaimers
- Food Safety Exemption Notice: We clarify that while growers selling their own unprocessed fruit and vegetables directly at the farm gate are generally exempt from a formal Food Control Plan under the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), processed foods, honey, or prepared items may still require registration or follow specific safety rules.
- Local Council Bylaws: Reminder that sellers must check their local district council rules, as some regions require permits for trading in public places or specific guidelines for roadside structures.
- Traffic and Public Safety: Stall owners confirm their setup does not block driver visibility, cause traffic hazards, or illegally occupy public road reserves without local consent.
- Terms of Use / Liability Waiver: Roadside Harvest app is only a directory platform and holds NO RESPONSIBILITY for the quality, safety, or legality of the food sold by third parties.
